November 4th UPDATE ***Due to the high percentage of rain for tomorrow and the fact the catch basin is located at the low-point, the contractor has requested to suspend the work until Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Additionally, this is the next time the SR Construction (Concrete Guys) can make it to town.
*****
Next Thursday (Nov 5th), SRV Construction (Contractor that constructed the Roundabout this past Spring) will be back in town to correct a birdbath (Low point that holds storm water in the street) in the curb line. It is in the eastbound lane, just east of the roundabout. We want to get this corrected before the cold weather comes and it becomes a potential hazardous spot for motorists and bicyclists. Or the more correct term pedicyclists for those that ride with more than two tires!

The anticipated plan is to be on-site, early (7 am) on Thursday, November 5th. SRV will install a catch basin by removing approximately 20-feet of curb line and sidewalk panels. Making a small saw cut in the asphalt to accommodate the curb around the catch basin. The storm line is just under the curb, so excavation can be at a minimum to the pipe. A short section of storm pipe will be removed to make room for the new catch basin. Our goal is to complete the work in one day, including the concrete pour and make it look like it was part of the original work. People will never know!
There will be traffic control set up with signage and flaggers. In order for the work to take place in a timely and safe manner, traffic flow will be down to one-lane of traffic.
We have placed two reader boards on trailers at the east and west side of the roundabout to provide 5-days of notification to folks traveling east or west.
